"How much does a website cost in Dubai?" is the wrong question. The right one is "how much should this website cost, given my business model, traffic plan, and 18-month roadmap?"
Quotes for the same scope in Dubai swing from AED 3,000 to AED 200,000 in 2026 — not because the work is wildly different, but because the market is opaque and pricing models are inconsistent. This guide cuts through it with real AED ranges by project type, what genuinely drives the number up, and how UAE-India cost arbitrage actually works (it is real, but it is not the 3-4x multiplier some agencies pitch).
We build websites for UAE clients out of a 12-person engineering team in India, so the numbers below reflect what we quote, what we see competitors quote, and what shows up on Dubai agency invoices we have audited as part of migration work.
The 2026 AED pricing tiers — what each one actually buys you
| Tier | AED range | What you get | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|---|
| Landing page / brochure | 3,000 – 8,000 | 5-8 pages, responsive, basic SEO setup, template-driven | Pre-MVP startups, holding pages, single-service businesses |
| Standard SME website | 8,000 – 25,000 | CMS (WordPress / Directus), custom branding, contact forms, blog, basic integrations | Most SMEs in Dubai with one product line and lead-gen needs |
| Mid-market business site | 25,000 – 60,000 | Custom design in Figma, bespoke development, performance budget, Arabic RTL, multi-language | Established businesses, professional services, multi-product B2B |
| Ecommerce (Shopify/WooCommerce) | 15,000 – 60,000 | Custom theme, AED checkout, Tabby/Tamara, logistics integrations | D2C brands, retail, niche product catalogues |
| Custom web application | 60,000 – 200,000+ | Next.js/React + backend, authentication, complex workflows, integrations, dashboards | SaaS, marketplaces, B2B portals, internal tools |
| Enterprise / Shopify Plus | 100,000 – 275,000+ | Headless architecture, multi-store, custom checkout, ERP integration | Multi-emirate retail, regional rollouts, GCC expansion |
Anything outside these ranges is either a template install with a fancy quote, or scope-creep waiting to happen.
What actually drives the number up
In our experience scoping 50+ UAE projects, the cost is driven by these five things in roughly this order:
- Custom design vs template — A bespoke Figma-led design phase typically adds AED 6,000-20,000 to a build. Worth it when the brand is the product (D2C, hospitality, premium services). Not worth it for B2B brochure sites where users came for the spec sheet.
- Integrations — Each third-party integration (CRM, ERP, payment gateway, WhatsApp Business, marketing automation) adds AED 2,000-8,000 of engineering time. Three integrations is normal. Eight is the red flag.
- Arabic + RTL — Properly engineering for Arabic right-to-left layout doubles the QA cycle, adds 15-25% to design time, and breaks every off-the-shelf theme in subtle ways. Budget AED 4,000-12,000 extra for a serious bilingual build.
- Performance budget — Core Web Vitals work (image optimization, code splitting, edge caching, CDN setup) is engineering, not a checkbox. Hitting a 90+ Lighthouse score on mobile typically adds AED 4,000-10,000.
- Content — Not the website cost per se, but most projects stall here. Budget AED 3,000-15,000 for copywriting if you do not have an in-house writer, AED 5,000-20,000 for photography.
Pricing models — fixed, hourly, or sprint-based

Three models dominate the Dubai market:
Fixed price. You agree the scope and the number up front. The agency carries the delivery risk; you carry the scope-creep risk (any change is a paid change request). Best for tightly-scoped projects with clear requirements. AED rates: usually loaded with a 15-25% buffer because the agency has to absorb estimation risk.
Hourly. AED 200-550 per hour depending on team seniority. Honest in theory; in practice, it transfers all risk to the client. You only choose hourly when you trust the agency's PM to write down tools and warn you when scope is growing. Most Dubai web buyers should not pick this.
Sprint-based / time-and-materials with milestones. We use 2-week fixed-price sprints. You commit to one sprint at a time, you can pull the plug after any sprint, and scope is reset at the end of each one. It is the model we think is most honest because the agency is constantly proving value to keep going. The AED total over a project usually lands close to a fixed-price quote, but you control the spend rate.
Whatever model you pick, demand a written deliverable list per phase. Vague proposals are the single largest source of disputes in UAE web projects.
The UAE-India arbitrage — what is real and what is hype
The pegged AED to USD rate is 3.67 and has been since 1997 — predictable. The AED to INR rate sat around ₹25.5 through April 2026. That gives Indian engineering shops serving UAE clients a real cost basis advantage.
In practice, the arbitrage is 2-3x at equivalent quality, not the 3.5-4x some India-based agencies advertise. The difference is:
- An engineer in Bengaluru or Kolkata costs roughly 35-45% of an equivalent senior engineer in Dubai
- Project management overhead is similar in absolute terms (it is harder to compress)
- Tooling, hosting, and license costs are the same regardless of geography (Vercel, AWS, Shopify, OpenAI bills do not get cheaper)
- Communication and revision cycles are slightly slower across timezones, costing 5-10% in effective velocity
Net: a Dubai web agency quoting AED 60,000 for a project is usually our AED 22,000-28,000 quote for the equivalent scope. Not AED 15,000 — anyone offering that is cutting engineering time or QA.

Hidden costs to negotiate up front
The website price is not the website cost. The five most-missed line items in Dubai web proposals:
- Domain and hosting — AED 100-170/year for the domain, AED 75-1,500/year for hosting. Negligible alone, but ask whether the agency is managing it or you are.
- SSL certificate — Most modern hosting includes Let's Encrypt for free. Anyone charging AED 500+/year for "SSL setup" is overcharging.
- Maintenance retainer — AED 500-5,000/month for security patches, plugin updates, content support. Optional, but a website without ongoing maintenance will be broken or breached within 18 months.
- Content writing and translation — As covered above.
- Photography and visual assets — Stock images are free or cheap; brand photography typically AED 5,000-25,000 for a proper session.
Any honest Dubai agency will hand you a one-page Total Cost of Ownership sheet showing year 1, year 2, and year 3 spend. Most do not, because the year-1 number sells better.
What we have shipped in this range
A few recent points of reference from our own work for UAE and India-based clients:
- A WordPress-to-Next.js rebuild for our own innovatrixinfotech.com — 363+ pages migrated, full content schema in Directus, Core Web Vitals 95+, shipped in 6 sprints.
- A Hydrogen-headless Shopify build for a D2C brand — +41% mobile conversion, +28% AOV (FloraSoul case study).
- An AI-powered customer support layer on top of an existing Shopify store — 84% AI resolution rate, 130+ hours/month saved (Bandbox case study).
Each of those sits in a different cost bracket in the table above. Tell us your roadmap, and the bracket usually picks itself.
Honest take: what most UAE businesses overspend on
Three patterns we see consistently:
- Over-designing the homepage. Most users land on a product or service page from search or paid. The homepage is not the front door it used to be. Cut homepage design time, invest in landing-page templates.
- Buying too much CMS. WordPress with Elementor + 30 plugins is not cheaper than a clean Next.js + headless CMS build over a 3-year horizon. We have migrated dozens of these and the maintenance debt is consistently underestimated.
- Skipping the analytics setup. A AED 50,000 website without GA4 + GSC + heatmap + conversion tracking is a AED 50,000 website you cannot improve. Budget AED 2,000-5,000 for proper analytics on day one.
